About Barnhill Chimney

Brion didn't plan on becoming a chimney sweep—he fell into it. While studying in college, he started working alongside his brother at a local chimney company and discovered a job that perfectly matched who he was: a people person and a natural tinkerer. Every day brought new faces and new puzzles to solve, and he loved every minute of it—especially the ones spent 50 feet in the air, hanging off the edge of a chimney.

By 1999, Brion was already running his own jobs on the side. He officially founded Barnhill Chimney Company in 2000, starting with chimney sweeping and basic maintenance. Word spread fast. The business grew from simple cleanings to a full-service operation covering chimney repair, hearth appliance installation, and outdoor kitchen builds across Central Kentucky.

In 2015, the team got a call from Animal Planet's Treehouse Masters—they needed a woodstove installed inside a luxury treehouse. It was the kind of unusual, creative challenge that Brion thrives on, and the episode brought national attention to the company's work.

That same tinkerer spirit led to another breakthrough. Frustrated by the lack of high-quality chase covers on the market, Brion started fabricating his own—and that side project grew into Barnhill Chimney Supply, now serving chimney professionals across the country.
